But you woke up today in your own bed, you don't have a brother who's a drug addict and sell your stuff to get him the money, and when your hair behaves you'd feel confidence firing up inside you.
No, life is never steady. Your days feel dull every now and then, you hear the other kids going to parties getting wasted and you wish you were doing the same thing. You see families with their dads on Fathers Day giggling to private jokes and you feel the colour draining from your face. You watch people your age on TV doing adverts and reality shows when you're at home counting the hours to bedtime because you weren't allowed to go out.
Semua orang ada rezeki masing masing, I told her. Try comparing your life to the ones beneath you, and God knows how blessed and lucky you'd feel. Maybe you don't have all the money in the world, sometimes you walk into your favourite shop and you see all these pretty things you'd like to grab and put them on the counter, but then you remember you're so broke when you open your wallet a fly would come out. But what about the to-die-for items you have in your room back at home? There are people who wish they could own half the stuff you do, but you don't even know it.
Stop sulking, start smiling to the ray of sunlight. Don't drown your sorrow (in flames.. my fave made up metaphor lol) when it's raining outside, instead take that chance to dance in the rain, to twirl around over and over again like in the movies or take a walk and take it all in - the greens, the lovely weather, the wet tiles and the way no one bothers about your decency.
Forget about that boy who never calls, the never ending nagging by your own mom, the friends who only go to you when they need something from you. Think about the alluring things you are blessed with in life. What other people don't have yet you do. Maybe then you'll realize.. how auspicious you really are.
